smart homes are not a thing of science fiction anymore – today you can control lights, speakers, window blinds and many more with your phone. but security is one of the strongest assets of the internet of things, allowing users not only to feel more comfortable in their homes, but also safer. with this in mind, hive just launched the hive view – an indoor camera that fits naturally into the home environment. designed by yves béhar, its standout grab and go feature allows the lightweight camera to disconnect from its ultra thin stand.

hive view only captures content when triggered. once activated by movement, it will start automatically recording and will send a notification it detected something. in order to avoid false alarms, it can be set to detect people only so it won’t be triggered by pets. captured content can be viewed for 24-hours as standard, with the option to upgrade to receive 30-day rolling video history.

Each element works well as a stand alone form. I would love to see the mechanics of the base joint. Very nice work. Well done
