piero lissoni and kartell have continued their collaboration with ‘zooom’, an expandable table that supports the philosophy of localized working environments. simplicity, geometry and austerity are overlapping themes within the design of the latest configurable unit. presented alongside ‘lizz’, a technopolymer thermoplastic chair the desk extends its frame by using elements such as bent laminate legs and white or black painted aluminum supports with a tempered glass surface on top. designboom spoke with lissoni in regards to his work with kartell and some of the technical aspects of his project:

  • Ehhm … maybe i’ve my eyes crossed but I can see an definitv problem at “white zooom table after expansion” that will not get any better if the table is in use …
