Alien Terrain

Alien Terrain

Ken Price’s ceramics seem to hover between object, body, and invented landscape in Alien Terrain at PoMo, the artist’s first solo presentation in Norway.

Bringing together fourteen late works, the exhibition follows Price’s clay forms as they swell, pucker, shine, and mutate into something at once handmade and strangely synthetic.

Their polished surfaces carry traces of comics, science fiction, and geological fantasy, while the intimacy of clay keeps the work close to the hand even when the forms suggest distant planets or unfamiliar terrain.
