dark restaurant

opened on the 23rd december 2006. this restaurant, located in beijing, china, has its interior painted completely black. meals are eaten in this environment with the complete loss of vision. flashlights, mobile phones and even luminous watches are prohibited whilst in this area. read more via neatorama

  • Bonjour & Bonne Année 2007 Designboomers! If you come to Paris, France, i recommend you to try the restaurant called “Dans Le Noir” (in the dark) which was the first one in the world to offer this kind of experience. Just check the website: http://www.danslenoir.com or go there, it’s just in front of the Centre Pompidou Museum!
    NB: this post is not an add. I just think the “Dans Le Noir” concept goes much further because the waiters are native blind people. It’s not only “the funky place to be” but it gives us a creative & friendly opportunity to understand this huge handicap and to make these people share their way of living. I was just wondering, have you ever heard of a blind designer?
