global warming swimming pool by ogilvy and mather

upon first glance this might look like people swimming on top of a submerged city. it is in fact an ad created for HSBC created by ogilvy & mather mumbai ad agency, india. the whole idea behind the campaign is to raise awareness of the dangers of global warming. an aerial photo of a city’s skyscrapers is glued to the base of a swimming pool to create the effect.

  • hoax hoax hoax, merry christmas!

    APJ says:
  • Good to see some corporations beginning to acknowledge and warn consumers about our biggest threat…

    fu says:
  • Global warming my foot.

    RLT says:
  • 911 didn’t happen!

    RBZo says:
  • RBZo is a freaking idiot…. and Global warming is total bull sh*t

    FTS says:
  • Global Warming is a fucking fact, 9/11 did happen. Bravo for this company actually creating something like this, because if shit doesn’t change that is a possible outcome.

    LavaFalling says:
  • Non man made global warming is a fact…….it’s been warming since the end of the ice age. What is portrayed by the swimming pool is bs though.

    FFF says:
  • To say Global Warming is true or false is almost impossible, the earth has gone under many warm and cold periods in the past, saying we can prevent it is like saying we can stop people from taking shits.

    Citizen 101 says:
  • True, global warming has been happening since the ice age (in fact, many scientists believe that it was global warming that caused the ice age), but you must realize that we are accelerating the process. The scientific evidence supporting it is overwhelming. There is a strong correlation between CO2 and methane (CH4) gas levels and temperature levels of the the atmosphere. This has caused a significant change in weather patterns, sea levels…etc. Because this is only a comment, I’m not going to continue the argument, but I just want point out that, though global climate change (I prefer this label to global warming) occurs naturally, we are accelerating the process past natural means. Sweet pool, though. Very clever.

    lvcky360 says:
  • water levels on earth would never reach that high.

    interesting propaganda tho.

    seeker says:
  • Great idea, I really like it.. But since when did global warming become a fact? According to the actual scientific data the planet is cooling down.

So whichever corporations keep investing money for raising awareness on global warming needs to get their heads out of u know where and invest in things like schools and the development of technology!

Such a dark age.. I feel shame in just living on this Planet.

    Sausages Inc. says:
  • global warming. not real. The planet IS in a period of cooling. Even if the planet is warming, which it’s not, when you look at the whole history of earth it is very rare that there is any ice on it. who are we to say what the temperature of the planet should be. we like to think we own the earth, but really we just utilize its resources the most.
