designer's own words:

Located in the monumental entrance-hall of the Termini Station in Rome, place of continuos passenger flow, the cafeteria “Acafè”, white corian ribbon, comes off from the floor and from the mezzanine becoming counter, bodywork, ceiling: functionality and design generate the architectural space.
The volumetry wraps the customers and modulates their use of time, the speed and the fickleness of the passenger’s flow, conditions the sale activity: the 24 metres long counter evolves to offer to the customers a quick coffee, a snack in the pickup area or a moment of relax in the lounge area.
The space becomes absolute place, neutral and coherent wrapping dominated by the bright and opaque surface contrasts, of lights and shadows, of graphics dug and applied.
The bodywork forms the visual recall element, attracts the customers with its spatial shape, generates curiosity, it pushes the audience to read the volume in his entirety.
