bac à boue, or get the bucket down!

Living room is getting more expensive, therefore it’s also getting smaller.

We enter this problem and built innovative solutions for small flats and living rooms. We designed and built a compact kitchen on 4 square meters (2x2 m) for young people like us, which mostly eat fast food, but sometimes also like to cook. In spite of the low space, it was really important for us, to keep the friendly, sociable atmosphere alive. So we had must find new solutions for the storage space.

Our kitchen is composed of 4 elements.

The ceiling

On the one hand the ceiling is the source of light (for especially atmospheres you can change the colour of the light) and on the other it holds up a lot of storage space. Two buckets are separate lights, which are vertically adjustable. All the other buckets you can pull down and put in utensils like cups, plates, noodles etc. After using, you pull down the bucket some centimetres and he will pull up automatic.

The trough

First and foremost the through is a variable work surface but it also can be a temporary storage space, a sink unit or simply a table. All utensils you don’t need any more at cooking, you put into the trough. So you’ve ever enough space to work.

The small boards

Out of a catalogue you can put together various functional small boards for your kitchen. They take on a lot of typical kitchen functions and yon can hang them up on the wall like pictures. For the different works in the kitchen, you put combine the fitting boards on the trough. For example we’ve designed a breakfast-board, a sushi-board, an induction-range-board, a drying-board, a grater-board, a bowl-board and so on.

The bench

On the bench you can sit in various positions. Under the seats are drawers with different sizes.
Behind the seats are chests for cool bottles on the right, and for heat kitchenware on the left side. In the drawers on the right, are a refrigerator and a freezer. On the right side are an oven and a microwave inside the drawer in the middle. The little and the big one are for small kitchen utensils (cutlery) and pots. In the small narrow drawers under the through are some sockets and a radio. In the double drawer there under is place for waste and cleaning utensils.
