Bamboo Light is a bamboo ball whit LEDs. The bamboo gives the LED lights a warm natural look like candlelight. I found it interesting to combine the organic bamboo material with new technology. It gives a feeling of a symbiosis between the natural living and the artificial human made. The lamp is also sustainable in the way it provides an income for craftsmen living in the rural areas in India.

The LEDs are powered by three AAA batteries. By using batteries the lamp becomes more flexible in use. By shaking the lamp you can turn it off or on. This is possible by using Arduino mini chipset and an accelerometer.

The way you use the lamp is up to your own imagination. Play with it, place it in a bowl of fruit, use it as a night lamp or as outdoor lightning. The reason I made it into a ball shape is because of the playfulness this shape gives.
