designer's own words:

It is often very difficult for elderly people to learn how to deal with modern technologies such as an electronic payment system.
How could we cope with that?

We suggest an innovative device "The Bank Radio" which will be of a great use for elderly people assisted by their younger relatives/friends.

At the first glance, it looks like a radio. It doesn't have any screens, icons, menus, only few buttons and audio functions.
How does it work? Very easily!

Bill payments. A person who assists an elderly person fills in a form in an electronic system utilities (it includes his/her user name, user account, current meters of gas, water etc) from his/her own computer or smartphone. Information from electronic system is automatically sent to the "Bank radio" device. Once a month, the device notifies a client’s request for payment of current bills. A client may listen to the information not only about total amount of the payment, but also about each payment separately (heating, water, electricity etc.). To confirm a payment, a client should press the fingerprint-identifying button. A payment confirmation arrives followed by a light indicator and an audio message.

Payment for goods and services. If an elderly person needs to order something (for exemple a fridge) in an online store, it may also be ordered for him/her by an assisting person. After the ordering, an audio message comes to the device indicating the brand of the refrigerator, its specifications and its price. The only thing a client needs to do to confirm the payment is to press the fingerprint-identifying button. After that, a payment confirmation arrives to the device.
