BENCHOUSE

BENCHOUSE by stefano colombo from italy

designer's own words:

The idea is to give to homeless an equipment resistant at the atmospheric agents like the equipments normally used by mountain climbers, adapting these materials for a citizen living.

We choose the more used thing in the citizen parks: THE BENCH.
This is a very good structure for his dimensional quality and the position from the ground, but always fixed in open spaces and exposed to weather conditions.
We projected a covered tension structure that we define “home space”.
A mobile structure, (easy to be assembled/disassembled) placed into a supermarket cart ( two wheels moved) that follows homeless everywhere.
THE BENCH HOUSE will be attended by local voluntary people, and composed by:
- a fireless tension structure with transparent walls and door, protected by mosquito net.
- A sleeping bags (-5 Celsius degree).
- Internal lighting system with a battery lamp, manually chargeable.
- A two wheels moved cart containing everything.
