designer's own words:

This project presents a set of ceramic pieces to serve breakfast, able to serve the consumer intention of his comfort and behaviour. The set is made up of a tray, a plate, and a cup. With this method it pretends to stimulate the consumer giving great importance to the meal it self.
The tray has two areas, one with the plate and another one with the cup; however in these spaces we can place the food directly from the package that it came in. The tray has thermal system to heat the food using thermal resistances beneath the surrounding two food areas. This innovation seeks to maintain the meal warmer for more time, during the meal so it can be pleasanter and avoiding it getting cold in any pause the person eating may do.
The plate and the cup can both go in to the microwave and then by placing those in the tray the meal can continue to be warm. They can also be used as lid to cover the meal, this way the temperature can continue to be hot for more time and protect the meal until it’s eaten.
The thermal system has three sensitive touch buttons, two of them to turn each respective area on/off and a third one to control the intensity of the heat, which it has got three levels that are identified with three different colours that change inside the on/off buttons. The first level is blue, the second yellow and the third red.
In the backside of the tray is the device to connect the electrical current and the device that permits a network of trays in sequence, so it can transfer energy to each other using only one electric plug. The electric plug of the tray and its extensions are removable, so it can permit more comfort and tidiness.
The tray has also a slot to put napkins that is situated in back front of the tray. Also in the back front there are four magnets that are attached to the tray to hold metal spoons, forks, and knifes. All the pieces of the set can be washed in the dish washer, as all the electrical system can be isolated with rubbers parts in mode of not letting water in. The tray will have four rubber cylinders beneath it, so can’t slide.
