Butterfly is an outdoor bench, there is plenty of object like this in the furniture market; so this project try to follow a far-from-ordinary concept for a rather common pece of furniture. The idea is to have a bench made with as less manufacturing process as possible and at the same time emphasize the material (hardwood) as much as possible. More precisely the objective is to obtain a facinating form with few cuts from the raw material (the peeled trunk of the tree) to the final object. This semms partuclary suited to a country like Thailand, so rich of quality hardwood. Furthermore, every bench is design to be used alone or to gather to other "butterflyes" thsu forming complex yet intriguing compositions.
