designer's own words:
concept and motivation: a door handle should be inviting and funny, with a friendly image (butterfly) and easy to reach and use, for adults and children as well: the form offers the possibility to grasp at different heights, and it’s shape is better suited for the disabled.
the production and manufacturing process are traditional, the metal is casted into shape; the novelty is the sheet of fluorescent material set on the door surface, having a double function: as a shield (protection) and as a visual marker.
the handle can be either fixed or mobile: in the mobile version, it opens the door when the decoupaged wing is turned to a wider angle (45degrees) from the surface of the door – this can become a safety feature.
