designer's own words:

A design thesis, manifested through objects, that explores ideas of deviation and questions accepted notions of standards, averages and norms within design.

These freakish and incongruous sets of objects disorientate and challenge their users. They force us to view the world of everyday, homogenous objects from a new, quietly altered and slightly strange perspective.

We are presented with pre-existing standardised archetypal forms and rarely question them.

Our compulsion to name and categorize in order to understand means we are not truly comfortable with things that sit outside of these ‘norms’. So I am asking the question...

How can we get people to reconsider the role of type?
