curecheck

curecheck by Marco Grimandi from italy

designer's own words:

Cure Check is a handy and easy-to-use glycemia indicator, which contains all the necessary to check and cure the user. Thanks to its reduced dimensions and its design, it is absolutely pocket-sized and far from the shape of a medical device. The user puts his fingertip on the dedicated hole, after a three-second-lasting countdown a needle automatically stings the finger; the device is now able to analyze the blood drop and the user can read the result on the display. Subsequently the user can pull out the syringe in order to inject the right insulin dose; the syringe is reduced through a telescopic piston.
It is possible to make five tests and five injections before the user replaces the recharges, which are easy to get rid of.
Once the insulin in the syringe is consumed, it is possible to replace the insulin phial only (not the whole syringe).
The device has a mini-USB output to transmit all the results to the pc and to supervise the diabetic's medical trend.
