designer's own words:

DobRé consists of two halfdoors that covers the extend of an ordinary doorway.
It is easily pushed open, for example allowing you to open the door while carrying something in both hands.
The door has an innovative appearance that can be altered by changing the colors of the panels and sides. Thereby it can be fun and visually distinct, or it can be quite discreet. The doors close tightly due to the rubber sides and are held in place by magnets.

Installing the door:
The door is mounted at the top and bottom by first securing one side of the mounting-system at the floor and top of the doorway respectively. Secondly the door is slided into place, and finally the second half of the mounting system is secured.

The door can easily be pushed open from either side.
When DobRé is pushed open, the halfdoors slide to each side, thereby taking up much lesser space than conventional doors - a feeling of the door dissolving as you walk through it.
The door is easily closed by pushing or pulling either halfdoor, since they react dependingly on each other.

Construction:
The two halfdoors are combined so the movement of the one is always reflected byt the other.
Each half door is a lightweight and strong construction in polyurethane foam with a density of 600 kg/m3.

1) Soft sides on each halfdoor are made of soft silicone. To hold the doors in the closed position magnets are placed along the sides of the halfdoors.

2) Rotation and mounting system at the top and bottom of the doors. Aluminum plate glued and screw-mounted to the door.

3) Sliding element mounted on the frame of the door. Made of low friction PA.

4) Rubber sealing. Glued onto to top and bottom of the frame. Injection molded silicone.
These also have the effect of stabilizing the halfdoors in a desired position, so they do not turn un-intentionally
