designer's own words:

The Dualbag has come to make buying fruits easier and more pleasurable. It is a bag that turns into a fruit bowl - once it’s left on a horizontal surface, its handles separate and it acquires the shape of an oval bowl. Production: An oval clay mould gives the shape to a web of piaçava wires, which is then covered up with several layers of látex. Materials:
Piaçava is the fiber of Attalea funifera Martius, a palm tree found in Bahia, a coastal state of Brazil. The fiber is widely used on indian architecture and workmanship. Látex is a natural rubber original from the Hevea brasiliensis, rubber trees from Amazon. Its extraction procedure hasn’t changed since the earliest years of the colonization of Brazil.

Usage: Due to the materials with which the Dualbag is built, its shape is very flexible. When it’s used as a bag, it deforms to accommodate the fruits without crushing them, while the fibers guarantee its structure. When it turns into a fruit bowl, it stays put on the table or wherever one leaves it.
