d.w.s. digitalized waste system by anders kunz from norway

designer's own words:

In the near future it will no longer be standard bar-codes on products but RFID-tags. RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) are small data-chips that
can provide more product-information than just the prize.
Nobody has thought of using these possibilities for re-cycling: We have developed a system that tags the waste with material-information. Then you can throw
ALL your non-biological waste in one garbage-can and machines at the waste deposit will read the RFID-tags and do the sorting for you.
90 % of products will have the necessary information when you buy it, but the rest you can tag manually with the handhold unit.
