Empezar is one of the leading logistics companies at the rapidly expanding port in Mundra, Gujarat. With their immediate need for an administration building, the proposal also considers converting one of their storage yards into a Container Freight Station, with future warehousing and yard expansion possibilities.
The building is constructed out of locally availbile brick which helps in insultating against extreme temperatures faced in the Mundra region. Stategically placed, wind-towers, wind-scoops and water bodies form a system of passive air conditioning for the building, reducing the power requirement. The walls are constructed using the "Rat-trap" brick bond which futher help to insultate the building from the outside temperature.
