EPA ecological power accumulator

EPA ecological power accumulator by Pedro Gomes from portugal

designer's own words:

Cars are, in fact, one of the biggest sources of pollution but we have to face the reality in which it´s impossible to take cars away from people. In a predictable future people will use less their cars, more public transportation and hopefully, electrical cars. So, EPA, offers use for cars when not in use and a unique way for people to store energy for their electrical devices. It consists of foldable solar panel and a battery for energy storage.
The foldable panel collects solar energy also protecting the car from the sun. The panel can be folded to allow it´s use in exterior: at the beach, parks, anywhere where the user wishes. The energy collected is transferred through a cable connected to the battery. It can be used, by opening the top lid and connecting the device to the plug in. The energy can be used for any electrical device or to charge electrical cars. It´s delicate and sensual curves make it a desirable object to use and transport, giving the user greater energy independence. EPA has a strong pedagogic aim, it pretends to educate and inspire people to be more and more ecological. So, the panel has a strong message imprinted, which creates curiosity and propels people to act, see the web-site, and buying themselves a EPA product. The web-site, in concept, would give the user information relevant to sustainability concerns, creating a system or networks that go from the product to the general population.
