designer's own words:

the shape of this handle goes beyond the simple hardware component idea and becomes an object that “wants” to be noticed and observed.
its shape is expression of dynamism, with a clear iconic recall to a falling star.
the slant facilitates the rotation requiring less strain by users, therefore easier to be used by people affected by upper limbs impairment.
