designer's own words:

Memory:
Gami festive installation uses paper folding technique for its design. The result is an elegant, white, folded silouhette made of wood sheets, and milled to perfection. I believe that a monochromatic design inspires peace and reflection to the observer. The main idea is to introduce an elegant object that seems festive for Christmas time yet remains elegant and distinguished. Many Christmas symbols appear as we turnaround the object, a Christmas tree, a snow flake and a light sparkle, yet the object is not so directly any of them, it remains abstract and plays with the viewer.

Building process:
The design process defines creases and valleys developed using digital techniques to locate and generate folds. To fabricate, wood laminate sheets are milled to be able to generate a substructure that will be clad with 1/4” laminate sheets. The whole object is to be powder-coated matte white. No harmful adhesives or wood composites are to be used in the spirit of “detoxing” the building process.
