the gallery-like storage technique is taken from the 18th century religious sect, 'the shakers'. known for their durable and functional furniture - unused items were put on the walls, to help make space for other pieces within a room. 'hang it wooden shoes' is made from walnut wood, gold coated brass and silver. the footwear was constructed using CNC, welding, filling, 3d print, casting - advanced manufacturing processes that oppose the simple, basic and formal language of materials seen in 'the shakers'' work.
