id

designer's own words:

id allows the teenager’s room to flex with the reality of being a teen – the extremes of mood swings, fanatical socializing, and an increasing desire for independence and privacy. the simple form and structure allows the teenager to engage id in many ways. when fully extended, id becomes a social center to sit on, lean against, or bounce on recklessly. by unzipping one end, the teen can access the inside of id – to be used as private space, a comforting cocoon. finally, the hoop structure allows the user to collapse id to a nest-like shape for sitting, reading, and relaxing. like the unconscious psyche, id reacts to the instinctual needs and drives of teenagers.
