interactive stereoscopic 3d real time visual art & virtual reality walk throughs by zoran zelic from usa
designer's own words:
the project incorporates 3d stereoscopic projection of computer generated immersive realities through which a viewer can virtually walk-through by using a keyboard, mouse, or iphone/smart phone. this exciting new media can be easily installed for both interior and exterior applications (i.e. projected onto walls or building facades). >>
after many years of experimenting and testing various stereo 3d hardware and software, i recently developed mobile 3d system that can be setup quickly, and projected on any surface. >>
the visitor can explore a virtual environments, such as idyllic environment in the tropics and discover the newest infiniti cars, walk around it and almost feel the water lapping at their feet. >>
also in the showroom, interactive 3d visuals will be incorporated that respond to audio input (music, voice, etc). the show room audience can view these projections directly in 3d using 3d glasses (e.g. inexpensive polarized or red-blue glasses) and watch the images as music, or their own voices, transform the images using a unique software program. the projection surface would be site specific using a wall, the floor, ceiling or actual cars and other objects in the room. the exterior application: a projector will display 3d videos on the exterior walls of the showroom or adjacent buildings, attracting attention to the infiniti showroom from miles around. >>
3d imaging has a striking effect on viewers, and has great marketing potential. interactive stereoscopic 3d creates an even bigger wow-factor for an emotional response and memorable experience. 3d artworks will bring new ideas and emotions to visitors. >>
i will also create a live, real-time 3d webcast of the showroom opening events so that fans around the world can watch the unfolding experience in showrooms simultaneously. it can be viewed on any 2d displays by using red-blue 3d glasses or on 3d displays, as 3dtv is becoming a de facto standard. >>
another cutting edge aspect of my project is the augmented reality (ar) component. ar is a relatively new term (and technology) that means our live-direct or indirect view of the world is augmented by computer-generated sensory input. for visitors outside (and inside) the showroom, the infiniti logo, and the car itself, along with other digital creations, will be visible through a personal smart phone or iphone, employing the camera viewfinder. these 3d virtual images will appear as if from nowhere into the visitors viewfinder and will be a first-ever experience for most. >>
in addition, stereoscopic displays placed in street-level showroom windows can be used to engage passers-by and invite them into the showroom. the exterior digital wall projections will have a similar effect. >>
equipment required for each installation: a laptop loaded with the installation graphics and software / 1-2 3d projector(s)/ 3d glasses (can be inexpensive glasses, with custom printed infiniti logo and message) / a smart phone or iphone for remote control / an optional wireless keyboard / a 3d ready monitor display / free downloadable apps for viewer enhanced experience.
**note: the software and hardware employed is easily operated by any computer literate person. >>
**note: to reduce the file size, submitted videos and images are uploaded in 2d format, but any 3d format can be sent upon request.
