living tracks

living tracks by anna braverman from israel

designer's own words:

This work depicts the relationship between different species through the foot-tracks – showing the path of Man as he becomes the only one walking on the empty surface.

It is a simplified description of Man's relationship to the natural world, and animals specifically. For as long as the man was following the way of nature he could walk side to side with other species…But when he put his own development and convenience above all the other creatures he crossed their path in a way that could not allow the coexistence.

The animal tracks used for the work were selected from a range of animals which are currently not considered as endangered species. I wanted to show that this scenario (which has occurred repeatedly) is also possible for the animals we consider safe now.
