designer's own words:
Steady or turn knob. Soft touch and appealing design. It could be manufactured in a wide variety of colors and materials though the ellipsoids are thought to be made out of rubber and the central body could eventually be shaped in hard wood. Unaffected, full of life and energy and intellectually stimulating.
Technical details are left intentionally open to fulfill requirements of mass production. The simplicity of the ellipsoid insert mechanism is not shown.
