Mood

Mood by bchen from usa

designer's own words:

In our constantly connected world, where the boundaries between digital and non-digital worlds are increasingly blurred—people seek more intelligent 'always on' relationships with their surroundings.

Responding to light, sounds, time of day, and signals from nearby devices—Mood infinitely evolves like a chameleon, having a mind and manner of its own. Designed to complement each individuals' lifestyle and enhance your everyday experiences in the home or workplace. The artwork automatically adjusts becoming the most appropriate for a given context, such as:

LIGHT (DAY/NIGHT):
Mood responds to the changing light levels in its environment. External light levels (sunshine, overcast, night) and internal light levels (electric light, candles, etc.) all influence the way Mood evolves. For example, if it is overcast outside, Mood gradually becomes brighter and vivid in color.

SOUNDS:
Mood changes and evolves through exposure to pitch and frequency of audio in the environment.

TIME OF DAY:
Imagery responds and gradually evolves with the passing of time.

DIGITAL DEVICES:
Notifications and interruptions from digital and electronic devices affect change in Mood imagery.

The artwork consists of a custom application developed in openFrameworks which employs a range of input sensors to inform changes within the visuals.
