Ontology (HELLO FUTURE)

Ontology (HELLO FUTURE) by bit of myworld from china

designer's own words:

More instant digital products are created where the end result matters more than the process with which it was created. Consumers are distanced to where the actual goods come from. There should be a rare occasion, however, where we can engage on a level beyond flash, if we have a sentimental bond, a personal connection.

This project is making an effort to re-connect with the emotional side of objects through telling stories of objects’ origins, triggering experimental interactions and creating unique sensory experience. It is of the believe that designing a product nowadays, should be a process of constantly reflecting on the history and the future of consumer culture, sometimes with sensitivity and some humour.

‘Ontology’ is a project that leverages wireless charging, infrared sensor and magnetic technologies to create vivid and interactive experience. The collection is made out of Bakelite, stainless steel and textile.
