DEFINE
Stubby pencils get lost bottom of pencil holder or trashed after limitation of their length.
How we relieve stubby pencils??

DISCOVER
Inspired by pencil artist Dalton Ghetti’s work “Alphabet”. Used pencils have unique color and length and they express new atmosphere by forming a flock.

DISRUPT
By working on the point how the character of pencils are created, sampling and extracting the elements and digitalization were completed. According to the analysis, the most characteristic element might be the length of shaft of pencils.

DESIGN
Transforming pencil-like honeycomb shapes and mapping on curved surface by the mathematical script. The length, width, depth of "the shaft of pencils" could be controlled and creates architecture for stubby pencils.

DEPLOY
This work is “architecture” for displaying stubby pencils with analysis from several perspectives.
