plate becomes handle by mary gouger miss from usa

designer's own words:

this handle is made out of the wood, walnut. i glued a few pieces together and first cut it into a 2.5 inch by 3 inch block and cut a 45 degree angle on one side. then i took another block i glued up and put it on the wood lavre and started to turn it like i was making a wood bowl. when i was done i cut it into a forth and glued the block and bowl together to get my finial piece. the bowls radius fits perfectly into the hand and greets it. when it is placed on the door it as a slit tilt up towards the person coming to touch the handle. it moves with ease when turned to the right, and once it hits 180 degrees it opens the door.
