pOrOus Chair

pOrOus Chair by daisuke nagatomo from japan

designer's own words:

pOrOus chair encourages us to insert our interests and needs, and the plug-in devices can transform the atmosphere instantly. A user can install hardware such as music players, speaker, or even lamps, with an attaching device which works as an electrical outlet. The chair is multifunctional yet personal. It is a place to study, a DJ’s booth, or simply a place to relax. The versatility of a traditional chair is maximized, and the interaction between a person and a piece of furniture has upgraded with technology.

By using recycled post-industrial content, such as soft drinks bottles, re-fabricated polyester can be durable yet retains the flexibility. The porosity of the chair use less but stronger material, and recycled polyester allows the fluidity design and strengthened its aesthetic value. pOrOus Chair’s constructability reflects the latest technology and industrial design. By using the Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Milling, we could perform precise drilling and often turning techniques to make the negative of a model. Simply pour the recycled resin and weld the two half pieces together to complete the construction. This single-mold method makes the fabrication process easy, and it is highly ecological and economical.
