As one of units of cities, the road areas especially asphalt pavements take up much space in Korea. The cities have developed dramatically because of them which are the industrial society’s outcome, however, as result of it there has become the heat island. Asphalt Pavements are mainly responsible for this situation. Therefore, our design started a concept of that the asphalt pavement heat energy turns to the electronic energy using a collector as recycling of the asphalt pavement heat energy left alone, if asphalt pavements are inevitable units in cities. We have chosen on either side railings of the roads to design and highways to Incheon Metropolitan City.

We propose our design form concept it is motivated from a rose and the blue which are the symbols of Incheon Metropolitan City, and moreover it makes mean that the road undulates in the blue roses. The wave of the blue roses makes the innovation of highways to Incheon Metropolitan City. Instead of a complicated architectural design, we would like to express typical roads in Incheon Metropolitan City to a symbolism, so that we suggest a kind of FUN design to the effect that the road undulates in the blue roses.

In addition, our work is not only a rail but also a road lamp including a LED sign, being ten miters high same as the standard height of the road lamp. This helps people drive safely by daylight as recognized their speed and seen LED signs in the fast-paced and movement blue color.

On the other hand, when it is dark such as a rainy day or a night, our work emits light by itself. It is possible because of the collector transfer the asphalt pavement heat energy to the electronic energy and then giving it to the road lamp and the LED sign designed parts. It produces the new road scene with lights in the dark.

As the sustainable space element of using the asphalt pavement heat energy, our design is applied to the roads and then it will become a new green and sustainable design of Incheon Metropolitan City.
