It's considered to use stainless steel for durability. As it has relatively simple shape, it can be manufactured by a resemble process for the 2 different parts, and assembled to a whole piece of product.
The the quality of strong handle design within simpleness promises not only longevity of product, but also universality to users in terms of ergonomic, like how they, whoever is, grip and push it in any case.
