designer's own words:

The smaller family size, the shrinking kitchen space, and a more energy conscious society are all demanding a new kitchen appliance with high energy efficiency, compactness, simple cooking process and short cooking duration.

Rotai is created to meet these demands. It is an all-in-1 kitchen appliance to fit into the future kitchen and make cooking more convenient and fun. Rotai consists of a countertop-type of hood housing a double sink with a colander, 2 garbage chutes, a sliding cutting board, a faucet and 2 RICS.

RICS - rotary inductive cooking system, is the main feature of Rotai. This system is totally different from the existing, low energy efficient cooking stove. RICS applies the theory of Inductive Heating and Inductive Motion with multiple, switchable electromagnetic field allocations. Inductive motion is for rotating a cylindrical cooker inserted in the core of the stator. Inductive heat is used for cooking. No heating element and motor is needed in this cooking system.

RICS is able to, automatically, boil, bake, stir-fry and frying. The rotating cooking cylinder is able to “flip” and “stir” the ingredients thoroughly. A steam outlet valve is assembled on the end cap of the cooker to let go the steam. Electronic sensors are embedded in the outlet valve to monitor the cooking, pressure and temperature within the cooker.

RICS is of high energy efficiency and so the cooking duration is shortened drastically and makes cooking a lot more convenient and fun. Rotai will help save more energy, drive people to cook more, eat healthier and consume less junk food.
