designer's own words:

The homeless Johnny needs a cart.

He needs a cart to be a container of what he wants to carry. Concerning his homelessness, a bed would also be an important object to carry.

Starting from the shopping cart concept and shape, passing through the shell idea of as openning and protective structure, a shelter cart design was reached – Johnny’s Cart.

Like an animal protected by it’s outer skelet, a metal structure hostes a bed.

The structure is divided in three sectores: 2 boxes (superior one for temporary storage and an inferior box for more permanent stuff), vertical cardboard storadge pockets (2 side opening ones and one back pocket) and a central space where a folded bed is placed.

Formally, the cart-bed is a unique piece: thanks to the adapted height from the earth (45 cm), it concur a good use during the opening phase to carry out the sleeping functions, and it guarantees the personal stuffs control- protection placed under his body.

Provided with four wheals dimensionated for a better mobility.

MAIN INSTRUCTIONS
To move the cart, press the back handle to unbrake the cart and push it.
To stop, unpress the brake handle.
To sleep, open the bed, protect yourself inside the cocoon and have a good night sleep.
