sliced planes

sliced planes by alexis sparko from usa

designer's own words:

This design takes the repetitive pattern of traditional radiator designs and disrupts its regularity. A series of metal panels, each 1" x 18" x 36", are spaced 3" apart producing a pattern of vertical planes. This system is then disrupted by slicing the corners of certain panels away. The angles of the slices vary slightly from panel to panel, creating a flowing movement of void within this highly regularized and planar system. The result is a radiator which relates to the vertical, repetitive patterning of traditional radiators while simultaneously creating a new language and unique spatial quality.
