designer's own words:

it looks elegant and simple from a distance but when you come closer an extra dimension is revealed. the opening in the middle doesn't only emphasizes it's lightness but could also have a practical purpose as a key hanger.
the handle is made of casted titanium which makes the handle light and strong. it's edges are made round so they fit the safety standards.
