designer's own words:
When sunlight strikes a transparent material such as PMMA having a textured surface with a lot of micro-channels, the silhouetted reflection takes on the colors of the rainbow. This effect is called diffraction grating. The PMMA body rests on a steel base that integrates a system anchored to the floor or wall.
