stuttgarts crocodile

designer's own words:

The Porsche Cayman is named after the cayman breed of reptiles found in Central & South America. The skin on its underside is strengthened and reinforced with bony plates or scutes, which is what differentiates them from crocodiles.
The pattern I designed is thus based on this lively reptile that boasts surprising speed, power and domination. Use of the pattern over the whole car resembles a spider web, which pays tribute to the Porsche Spyder from 1953, not least driven by the cult, James Dean.
But Porsche sports cars are made for streets, so the pattern is actually a true road map of Stuttgart-Zuffenhausen, the headquarters of this legendary car company and a landmark in the history of German automobile manufacturing.
