the soupbird

the soupbird by sabine scheurer from germany

designer's own words:

In a community with an increasing number of one person households more and more people are sitting lonely at the kitchen table slurping their bland soup. The “soupbird” solves that problem with a simple twist of a key. You just have to wind up the bird and place it to perch on the edge of the soup bowl. The bird not only acts as a companion, but it also dispenses herbs or sesame seeds to flavour the soup.
