designer's own words:

the trano handle offers a unique ability for multiple variations of materials to be combined and interchanged to fit each design need. the construction is simple; two parallel plates holding the interior handle piece together, presumably by interior pins. the two plates connect back to the neck fixture to enclose the piece.
