designer's own words:

The homeless tend to find comfort in the recession towards anonymity. This tendency brings about a sense of personal security in addition to security for one’s possessions. In this case, the tent’s bright orange color and reflective striping call attention to the cart’s presence, arousing awareness in the general public. In response to the cart’s strong presence, people can become more congnizant of the larger issue at hand, gain an understanding of it, and ultimately learn to live with the homeless in a cohesive environment. In the common urban environment, the process of achieving anonymity in this case is simple : push, stop, unfold, and retreat next to an area of construction. All of your belongings are housed with you, under one waterproof, yet breathable enclosure.
