designer's own words:

the design developed to suite the hand maneuvering around the handle, sloped towards the hand, then flows with the hand's movement, the lever is raised up a little to reduce the force needed to rotate it, sleek and shiny materials is preferred to emphasis the edged design of the handle, the developed shape simulates a wing with sharp edges.
