In the middle east, eating Hummus is a ritual. The act itself is called "wiping" (you wipe the paste with a piece of pita bread). Nowadays, Hummus is no longer an exclusive Mediterranean dish. The ceramic molded "wipe plate" was designed in order to guide the user wherever his from, and to enable the "proper" way of eating Hummus.
- the Hummus is spread on top of the wide curbs
- the structure of the elevated curbs was created to
prevent the paste from pouring into the plate
- the opening in the center prevents accumulation of
steam
