designer's own words:

this door handle was inspired by the energy created between complimentary forms.
the geometric and organic forms were derived from eastern calligraphy forms.
the organic form invites and responds to the touch
the geometric form provides strength and stability.
entire handle can be manufactured either in aluminum, chrome or bronze.
the part of handle which attaches to the door is thick enough to cover the hole for handle mechanism.
