‘ibèrico lamp’ by alberto gogojo
the ‘ibèrico lamp’, created by madrid-based designer alberto gorgojo is influenced by the iconic hams of traditional spanish culture. manufactured by master craftsman joaquin garcía huertos, the lighting object is comprised of different leathers where the combination of thin goat skin and thick cow hide provides a contrast in material opacity. wrapped in marine rope, the bent metal tube lamp stand
refers to the rope local butchers use to hang deli meat in the drying process. the completed piece creates a visual composition
to appear as if it were attached to the floor.
