‘the field’ by atelier 37.2 wood, soil images courtesy of atelier 37.2

conceived by french studio atelier 37.2, ‘the field’ is a public installation that was set in the city center of turin, italy. the artwork is composed of eleven metamorphic wooden sculptures partly filled with soil. the work has been interpreted by its audience and creators as many different things: a bundle of sticks, moon craters, giant nests, mole holes, a strange military squad, teepees, a metaphor for the italian soccer team, elegant paper basket and castaway wooden clouds.
