‘hover’

this series began as an open assignment in college as any form of collage. the assignment allowed for any medium and any style, therefore I went forth with my strength in photography and photoshop. I began shooting all throughout the city in which I live, philadelphia, pa. I mainly work with black and white photo’s, collage them within themselves by rotating/blending/scaling, to form something new and intriguing. I sometimes take other structured photos and blend them together for more contrast. once the blending process is finished, I find a palette of colors that I think can set a mood for the viewing. some pieces are manipulated behind a particular story, and others are left open for interpretation. I like the idea of confusing the viewer and having their vision travel in abstract ways through something that isn’t the same as it was intended to be. all of the photographs were taken in philadelphia and new york.
