the earl r. dean desk light by rotterdam-based designer charwin zargari is influenced by shapes and objects that surround us in our daily life. by trying to accentuate the aesthetic qualities of its form, they reveal a new presence.

by choosing to use an iconic shape – a coke bottle, originally designed by earl r. dean, they become not only aesthetically attractive, but the properties of these bottles make them re-usable in numerous ways. in giving new architecture to existing profiles as opposed to solely creating new shapes, transforms an opportunity for a more sustainable future. the base is made of two elementary materials, plastic casted into concrete.
